Drywall Repair After Plumbing Work
Plumbing repairs sometimes require opening a wall to reach the pipes behind it. Once the plumbing work is done, those openings still need attention.
For this project in Sublimity, Oregon, Handyman State LLC repaired several drywall openings, from smaller access holes near plumbing connections to a long section of garage wall. These photos show the work at different stages, including patch installation, joint compound application, and texture work.

Putting the Wall Back Together
Every opening has its own challenges. A small access hole near a fixture needs a carefully fitted patch, while a longer opening involves more seams and a larger surface to blend.
In the garage, the photos show the exposed wall cavity followed by replacement drywall installed across the opening. Later images show joint compound applied over the repaired area.
Closing the opening is one part of the job. The surrounding surface also matters. Existing wall texture, nearby outlets, and transitions between materials all affect how the repair comes together.
Working Around Plumbing Connections
Repairs near plumbing connections require attention to the space around the fixture. The patch needs to fit the opening while keeping the connection accessible.
One section of this project involved repairing the wall around a recessed plumbing box. The photo sequence shows the original opening, the patching stage, and the surrounding texture work.

These close-up views show why drywall repair involves more than covering a hole. Patch edges, seams, wall texture, and nearby trim all need to be considered.
Small Openings Deserve Care, Too
A smaller hole can still stand out in an otherwise intact wall. Another repair in this project shows an opening near the baseboard and floor register.
The photos follow that area through several stages: an open wall cavity, a fitted drywall patch, and joint compound extending beyond the patch edges. Working beyond the opening helps create a gradual transition into the surrounding wall.
